Diagnostic Testing
At Fulshear Foot & Ankle, we utilize cutting-edge diagnostic tools like ABI Testing, Sudoscan, and Digital X-Rays to assess circulation, nerve function, and bone health. Dr. Kunal Amin and Dr. Yumna Siddiqui use these advanced technologies to provide precise diagnoses and personalized treatment plans for a variety of foot and ankle conditions.
What is ABI Testing?
Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) Testing is a non-invasive test used to evaluate circulation and detect peripheral artery disease (PAD). It measures blood pressure in the ankles compared to the arms to identify blockages or reduced blood flow.
Common reasons for ABI testing include:
- Leg pain, cramping, or numbness when walking
- Cold feet or slow-healing wounds
- Diagnosing and managing peripheral artery disease (PAD)
What is Sudoscan?
Sudoscan is a specialized test that evaluates small nerve function by measuring sweat gland activity. It helps detect early nerve damage, particularly in diabetic neuropathy and other nerve disorders.
Symptoms that may require Sudoscan testing:
- Tingling, burning, or numbness in the feet
- Loss of sensation or increased sensitivity
- Monitoring nerve health in diabetic patients

What are Digital X-Rays?
Digital X-rays provide a clear, detailed image of bones, joints, and soft tissues to diagnose fractures, arthritis, and structural abnormalities. Compared to traditional X-rays, digital imaging offers sharper images with lower radiation exposure.
X-rays are commonly used for:
- Identifying fractures, dislocations, or bone abnormalities
- Diagnosing arthritis, bunions, and foot deformities
- Assessing foot alignment before surgery
